It's now coming to the PS2, and it's new name is Tales of Legendia, like previous topics have indicated.

I'm not terribly surprised given that the PSP has really been a hit and it's techinical capabilities really make portable RPGs a headache. I was really looking forward to this game on the PSP, but I guess I can pick it up on the PS2 and hold off on the PSP for a while, this way, I save a lot of cash. :D

After re-reading the article, it never stated that the PSP version isn't in the works.

But since Namco never stated the game was for the PSP in the first place ( a lot of people assumed that it was due to the fact the trailer was packaged with ToR on a UMD, guess they were wrong), I wouldn't beat on a PSP version coming, but it is still possible...

Um...how do we know if this game has anything to do with "Melfes"?

I think Tales of Melfes may still happen, it maybe a PSP game with connectivity features with Tales of Legendia.

There is no such game as Tales of Melfes. It was called Project Melfes and it originally was shown in a preview given to people that pre-ordered Tales of Rebirth on the PS2. The only Tales of game that is scheduled for the PSP is Tales of Eternia a port of the PSOne game. The only current Tales of titles in the works is Tales of Legendia (formally Project Melfes), Tales of Eternia on PSP, and Tales of Eternia Online for PC.

Of course, if you don't believe that Project Melfes is Tales of Legendia, simply look at the screens. Several of the screens released and shown in the magazine scan use the same areas that were shown in the preview. The flower area, the room with the dragon bones, and the island artwork are all the same.
