The total sales of SMS were very impressive, but looking from the hardware point of view I think that Nintendo could move more units of the GC than this. One of the most awaited Ninetndo releases this year, and almost has as many GC sold than the PS2... how is the ad campaing of GC on the US going?

Nintendo knows that a solid installed base is vital to the company....

I think NOA is DOA when it comes to their ads.

They need to take a cue from their Japanese counterparts.. as their ads a a lot more impressive than the stuff they put out there.

Why the numbers are so LOW? Consider North America is multiple times bigger than Japan but the figures are way lower.

Reason being is this is for Toy R Us only.

These numbers might not be totally accurate as to what might be happening in America. Granted, SMS will obviously be the number #1 game in America, but I bet sales of Xbox and PS2 hardware and software will be higher than they are at Toys R? Us. A large portion of people buying games at Toys R? Us would be parents buying games for their kids. Xbox and PS2 cater to an older demographic who do not typically cruz on down to TRU to buy games.

ARGH AtariX!

Gamecube has as many mature games and kiddy games as Xbox!Of course PS2 has more than GC and XBOX but GC is no kids console!

Of course there is a possibility of Xbox and Ps2 sales be higher but we just have to wait to get whole whole countrys sale numbers!

NiN, I'm not calling the Gamecube a kiddie console. Nintendo makes some great consoles and games. I'm just pointing out an obvious fact, most parents consider Nintendo a safe brand for their kids. Most of the people shopping at TRU are parents shopping for their kids. Marketing research has been done among children and Mario is right up there with Mickey Mouse in popularity. Toys R' Us has always pushed Nintendo(especially Mario) products very hard at their stores, because they have sold so well there in the past and it looks like they are still selling well there. I bet if you walked into Toys R' Us today, you would see so many Mario Sunshine posters all over the place, that you would still think Nintendo has an 85% market share, like they did during the NES days. Can we still be friends, Nin? :D I am sure that Gamecube sales have increased because of the release of Mario Sunshine. I need to change my avatar, Ryu looks a little mean.

Sorry about that Atarix!
I just got a high temper when i think some one might "hint"that GC is a kid console!

No hard feelings?:)

Animal crossing is selling alot better than I thought it would. I got it yesterday after I kept hearing so much good stuff about it. And it is awesome. I've yet to hear anegative review.

The only things that I could think of bringing it down are the graphics and sounds- but it's got so much more in there to more than make up for that.

Did you know it'll take you thirty years to see the ending!?

Maybe not. There probably be 5 people trading here. Check the IGN Animal Crossing board. Thousands of people are trading, that board is opened to everybody, including non insiders.
